Chief of Collaborative Projects & Poetry Editor (WWBL Magazine)

Aya is an emerging Egyptian poet based between Cardiff, UK and Berlin, Germany. Aya has had poetry published in magazines in Germany, France, and the United States: such as Stadtsprachen, Haus Für Poesie, WWBL, Poésie en Libérte, and Anomolous Press. She holds the role of poetry editor in The FU Review and in WWBL Magazine. She earned her Master’s degree in English and comparative literature, with a focus on women’s poetry, from the American University in Cairo and she is currently pursuing a PhD in Creative Writing with a concentration on poetry at Cardiff University. She is also a two-time first-prize winner of the Madalyn Lamont Literary Award of 2018 and 2022.
